In addition to learning essential general coffee knowledge and about the journey coffee makes from the farm to your front door, students will obtain the fundamentals of how to begin roasting coffee. This course goes above and beyond the standard SCA Intro level roasting curriculum and includes topics covering roaster technology, roast profile development, roast levels, sample roasting, identifying the physical changes that beans undergo during the process, and how to evaluate results (coffee cupping).
